Discord Mobile Won’t Let Me Copy Media Links [Fixed]

A fix for Discord Mobile Won’t Let Me Copy Media Links

Is your Discord mobile app not letting copy media links?

Is the “Copy link” option not showing up anymore when you tap and hold on an image or a video on the Discord app?

If yes, then you might want to know that Discord rolled out the feature in one of their recent updates.

The ‘copy link’ option was very helpful as it made it easy to share media files within and outside the Discord app.

However, there is still a way you can copy links to Discord media files using your device settings.

In this guide, you will see how you can copy media links on Discord even with the option missing when you tap and hold on to an image or a video file.

How to Copy Media Links on the Discord Mobile App without the “Copy link” Option

If you want to copy the link of a video or photo on Discord mobile and you cannot find the option to do so.

Then you are not looking in the “right” place.

The “Copy link” option has always been there when you hold and tap on a media file to copy the link for sharing.

But somehow, Discord devs decided to roll the feature out, no one knows why.

In place of it, the devs replaced the “Copy Url” with “Copy ID” which doesn’t do much for someone who does not use Discord.

However, there is still a way to copy the URL link of a video or photo on Discord mobile. Here are the steps below:

1. Log into your Discord

2. Tap and hold on the video or image

3. Tap on the “Share” icon and copy the link

1. Log into your Discord

The first step is to log into your Discord account on your mobile device if you haven’t already.

Once you have done this, head over to the image or video that you want to copy its link.

2. Tap and hold on the video or image

Simply tap and hold on to the area near the video or image that you want to copy and share its link, and a list of options will appear.

Alternatively, you can just tap on the media and then tap on the “Share” icon on the top of your screen just near the “Download” icon.

3. Tap on “Share” to copy the link

Tap on the “Share” icon and copy the link of any media on Discord mobile

From the list of options that appeared when you did step 2, select “Share” and tap on it.

Then the share options of your device will pop up, tap on “Copy link” or “Copy to clipboard” and the link of the media will automatically be copied.

You can now go ahead and share the link with whoever you want.

Note: Depending on your device, the “Copy link” or “Copy to clipboard” is usually not on top so you may have to scroll down to the end of the list to find that option.

Conclusion

Not being able to copy the link of a media on Discord can be a hassle as you might want to share your exciting finds with your friends within and outside of the app.

Even though the option seems to have been replaced with “Copy ID”, it doesn’t do much for anyone who doesn’t use Discord as they will have to install the app or go through the pain of third-party sites to be able to view the media.

With future app updates for Discord, we are hoping that they will bring back the “Copy Url” or “Copy link” option.
