Why can’t I install YouTube TV on Windows?
Although there may be a couple of reasons why a user might not be able to install YouTube TV on their Windows PC.
One of the first major ones is account-specific bugs and general app glitches that cause the Windows framework to malfunction.
The second major reason may be that your Windows version may not be compatible with the version of the YouTube TV app you are trying to install.
How to Fix Not Being Able to Install YouTube TV on Windows
As I mentioned, I have had this problem on my PC but I was able to fix it by following the method:
- Make sure that your Windows is up to date,
- Run the Windows troubleshooter,
- Perform a repair-install of Windows,
- Sign out and into your Microsoft account,
- Re-register all the store apps, and
- Reset the Windows Store app.
1. Make sure that your Windows is up to date
The first step to fixing this issue is to make sure that your Windows operating version is up to date.
This is because using if your Windows version is outdated, it might be the cause of you not being able to install YouTube TV on your PC.
To update Windows, click on “Start” and navigate to “Settings”.
Next click on “Update & Security” and then on “Windows Update”.
Finally, select “Check for updates” and check if updates are available, if yes, install them.
After installation, restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
2. Run the Windows troubleshooter
The next method to follow is to run the Windows troubleshooter, this can be done if after updating your Windows, the issue persisted.
Go to the “Start Menu” and select “Settings” and then on “Update & Security”.
Click on “Troubleshoot” and then select the Windows store apps from the list of apps, click on “Run Troubleshooter”.
After that restart your PC and then everything should work fine after that, if not, proceed to the next method 3.
3. Perform a repair-install of Windows
Performing a repair-install on Windows helps fix any badly installed framework that commonly occurs due to bad internet.
To perform a repair-install on Windows, go to this link.
Double-click on the “MediaCreationTool.exe” and select “Create installation media for another PC”.
Select “ISO file” and download it to your computer.
Next, open the “ISO file” that you just downloaded and install it on your computer, it will restart your computer, when it finishes you can check if you are now able to install YouTube TV on your Windows PC.
4. Sign out and into your Microsoft account
This fourth method will require you to sign out of your Microsoft account, don’t worry you will sign back in; just make sure that you have your login details written down somewhere you can remember them.
Let’s get started.
Open the Microsoft store on your computer, click on the profile icon in the top-right corner and sign out of your account.
Wait for a few seconds and sign back in and check you still have the same issues.
