How to Get the Tanuki Pet

It takes 30  Chi Points to purchase the egg, which you earn by submitting Tranquil-mutated fruits during a Zen Aura event.

The hatch chance for Tanuki is approximately 20.82%; a much better rate than some of the rarer Zen pets.

What the Tanuki Pet Does

The Tanuki is a Legendary pet with a quirky passive called Mischief, which triggers about every 10 minutes.

Here’s what Mischief can do in your garden:

  • Grant itself some experience
  • Apply the Choc mutation to a random fruit
  • Apply the Moonlit mutation to a random fruit
  • Apply the Chilled mutation to another fruit
  • Give you a random amount of Sheckles
  • Reduce another pet’s ability cooldown by 60 seconds

It’s all random, but when Mischief works in your favor, the results can be powerful boosts across harvest value, mutation rates, or even Sheckles gains.

It does not steal fruit from other gardens.

Conclusion

The Tanuki is one of the most engaging Zen pets, part whimsical trickster, part garden helper.

Its 20.82% hatch chance makes it more accessible than ultra-rare pets, while its Mischief passive offers a wide mix of beneficial effects.

If you are running the Zen event and have the Chi to spare, scoring a Tanuki is a fun, rewarding gamble with real in-game upside.
