How to Change Xbox One Wallpaper without A USB or PC

As I mentioned in the introduction section of this guide, you can change your Xbox One Wallpaper without a PC or USB, you can even use your phone to change it (which will be discussed below).

I also mentioned that there are about two ways to do this and I will be listing and explaining all three as much as I can below.

For the two (2) methods you will need to install the below on your Xbox One:

  • Install OneDrive (free), and
  • My Files Explorer (paid – less than $3)

However, before you can use “My Files Explorer” you will need to add a file called UserMgr0 to it.

This file will allow you to be able to open files on your Xbox One.

Step 1: Launch My Files Explorer on your Xbox One.

Step 2: Select the 3 dots at the top right corner of the screen and then select “Add folder to library” and then A.

Step 3: After that, click on the Xbox icon and then navigate to the “Select” button and click it and a new file, “UserMgr0” will be automatically created.

Note: The number “0” at the end of “UserMgr0” is not relevant, if you see a different number after you have created the file it doesn’t matter as it can be any number.

Method 1: How to Change Xbox One Wallpaper without A USB or PC Using My Files Explorer

Step 1: Go to the browser on your Xbox One and find the image you want to use as your wallpaper.

Step 2: Click on the Xbox icon on the left side of the screen and then select “Pictures” followed by “Saved Pictures” to save the image to your Xbox One.

Step 3: Next, open “My Files Explorer” and select the “UserMgr…” then find the “Pictures” folder and locate the image you just saved and click on it.

Step 4: After you have clicked on the image you want to use as your Xbox One wallpaper, you should see a “Set as Wallpaper” option, click it and your Xbox One wallpaper will be changed.

Method 2: How to Change Xbox One Wallpaper Using a Phone and OneDrive

This is by far the easiest method for changing your Xbox One Wallpaper and for this method you will be using your phone, OneDrive, and My Files Explorer.

Let’s get started.

Step 1: On your phone browser, download and save the image you want to use as your Xbox One Wallpaper and upload the image to your OneDrive.

Step 2: Open OneDrive on your Xbox and find the image you want to use and then click on “Share” at the top bar area of your Xbox screen.

Step 3: After you have clicked on “Share” you will see a list of options, simply select “Get Link” and then copy the link.

Step 4: Go to the Microsoft Edge browser on your Xbox One and paste the copied link and then load it.

Step 5: Click on the Xbox icon on the left side of the screen and then select “Pictures” followed by “Saved Pictures” to save the image to your Xbox One.

Step 6: Next, open “My Files Explorer” and select the “UserMgr…” then find the “Pictures” folder and locate the image you just saved and click on it.

Step 7: After you have clicked on the image you want to use as your Xbox One wallpaper, you should see a “Set as Wallpaper” option, click it and your Xbox One wallpaper will be changed to your desired image.
