Are you seeing a white screen whenever you want to stream or screen-share a game on Discord?
White screens while streaming or screen sharing on Discord are quite common especially if you are on PC, and since no one knows why it happens at least at the time of writing this.
The only thing that can be done is to find a way to manage this issue so that you can still enjoy your time on Discord.
In this guide, you will learn how to fix white screen when streaming on Discord, all the methods, and other fixes for Discord.
How to Fix White Screen When Streaming On Discord
To fix white screen when streaming on Discord, you will need to stream in a minimized window.
Meaning that for you to stream normally, you need to reduce the size of the window you are streaming on, just like the screenshot below:
Although there is no proven reason why minimizing the streaming window fixes the white screen error on Discord works, it still works and a lot of Discord users have been adopting the method.
1. Log into your Discord account on PC.
2. Click on “Restore down” to minimize the window.
3. Close open browsers.
4. Contact Discord support.
1. Log into your Discord account on PC
Simply log into your Discord account if you haven’t already.
Turn on streaming as you normally would and set everything else up; headphones, and all.
2. Click on “Restore down” to minimize the window
While the stream is still turned on, click on “Restore Down” at the top-right corner of your computer screen.
This would minimize the screen, turning it into a small box and that is the only way to avoid getting a white screen when screen sharing or streaming on Discord.
3. Close open browsers
Another fix that has been working with the above is while you have your streaming window minimized, close other browsers that you are not making use of.
As I have mentioned, no one knows why this method fixes the white screen error on Discord but, it works and that’s all that matters.
So in addition to minimizing your streaming or screen-share window, you should also close open browsers.
That means, assuming minimizing the streaming window does not fix this error for you, you have to close open browsers and then minimize the window again, it should work this time.
4. Contact Discord support
If you did try all the above methods and none of them fixed this error (very rare) for you.
You will need to contact Discord support, as this error might be from their end.
Seeing a white screen when you are streaming or screen-sharing on Discord is quite common.
This error sometimes happens when you are trying to stream with a PC and trying to screen-share a game (Elden Ring or Super Robot Wars) with your friends.
Although, no one knows why yet, minimizing the streaming window usually fixes this white screen glitch on Discord.
However, you can always contact tech support on Discord, if none of the fixes in this guide worked for you.
